CASE: turned handle to inverted bell top, the sides with rectangular glazed panels, twin escutcheons to front, pierced fretwork to corners, on pad feet DIAL: the brass dial engraved with birds, flowers and foliage, silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic five-minute marks, apertures for date and dummy pendulum, signed to centre Brounker Watts LONDON, subsidiary dials for 'strike/silent' and 'pull/not pull', silvered day disc to arch engraved with Deity figures and symbols emblematic of their corresponding planets, pierced blued-steel hands MOVEMENT: twin fusee movement with re-converted verge and crown wheel escapement, rack striking to bell, repeating on five bells, the back plate engraved with scrolling foliage and further signed, with pendulum; two winding keys and case key

Brounker Watts (b. circa 1670) apprenticed to Joseph Knibb in 1685. He became free of the Clockmakers' Company in 1693.
