Lot Essay

The Master of Kirchheim is named after an Altarpiece of the Holy Kinship that was originally placed in the St. Anne chapel of the Kirchheim Cloisters near Nördlingen. An old label on the reverse (fig. 1), indicates that this panel was once part of the collection of House of Wittelsbach.
