Lot Essay

The form and decoration of these pier tables relate to one in the Palazzo Reale, Turin, illustrated in E. Colle Il Mobile Barocco En Italia, Milan, 2000, p. 426, and two other consoles in a private Italian collection illustrated in R. Antonetto, Il Mobile Piemontese Nel Ottocento, Turin, 2010, p.202, figs. 1-b and 1-c.
