Three oval brooches, one with swivel centre enclosing a portrait of a small girl and one of a young man, possibly pannotypes, in a tubular surround, one with swivel centre containing a portrait of a bewhiskered gentleman, with woven hair reverse, the frame with applied leaf and rope work decoration, the third enclosing a portrait of a lady, the silver mount and frame with blue enamel decoration. The pannotype process was first presented to the French Academy of Sciences by the firm Wulff & Co in 1853 and is a positive collodion image on black waxed linen, they were popular during the mid to late 1850's but few examples appeared to have survived.
