A CARVED CELADON JADE 'MYTHICAL BEAST' GROUP
QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The jade is finely carved in the form of a recumbent horned mythical beast with a lingzhi sprig in its mouth, surmounted by a smaller clambering beast. The stone is of a pale celadon tone with areas of russet inclusion and milky speckling.
