Lot Essay

William Priest was a dealer and retailer of good quality library furniture (both new and second-hand) from various addresses in Blackfriars between 1837 and about 1850. A related writing table is illustrated in C. Gilbert, The Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840, London, 1996, p. 380.
