A late 19th century diamond and coloured diamond brooch
Modelled as a butterfly, the body set with an old brilliant-cut diamond of light greenish-blue hue, between openwork wings, set throughout with old-cut diamonds, the old brilliant-cut diamond single stone head with ruby eyes and old-cut diamond antennae, mounted in silver and gold, later rhodium plated, circa 1890, 5.3cm wide, coloured diamond untested for natural colour origin, detachable brooch fitting
