Lot Essay

This acetate was one of four cut on 16 December 1966 by Abbey Road engineer Ron Pender. The recording is considerably different from the released version, being Take 26, featuring George Martin's arrangement for strings and trumpets, with an overdub of John's lead vocal. The final version was an edit of Take 7 (speeded up) and this Take (slowed down.)
