A NORTH ITALIAN ETCHED MORION
CIRCA 1600
With one-piece almond-shaped skull (some older repairs) rising to a short stalk and etched with radiating bands involving elements of armour against a blackened granular ground interspersed with bright bands etched sprays of scrollwork, the bottom of the skull with a row of later lining-rivets with brass rosette-shaped washers, and brim with turned roped edge (some restoration) rising to a point fore and aft (rear point repaired) etched with foliage against a blackened granular ground (etching worn throughout)
