With characteristic recurved double-edged fullered blade with prominent medial ridge on each side and slight reinforce at the tip, silvered iron guard, tang and knuckle-guard, and ivory grip-scales and beaked pommel (one chipped) each set with gold-mounted rubies and garnets (one missing), in original velvet-covered sheath with silver-gilt locket engraved 'Edmond', and chape with parrot's head finial (some wear to silvering throughout)
