THE BLADE SIGNED TOMAS AYALIA, EARLY 18TH CENTURY
With slender double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section signed on each side within the central fuller at the forte and etched over half its length with scrollwork, trophies and a figure of St. Simon (reblued and regilt), plain iron hilt with traces of original blued finish, and blued swelled brass grip; together with A FRENCH SMALL-SWORD WITH GILT-BRASS HILT, late 18th century, with blade of flattened hexagonal section with etched flattened oval forte, and spirally-fluted gilt-brass hilt with small side-ring; and ANOTHER, SIMILAR, circa 1770, with short blade of flattened diamond section, and silver-gilt hilt cast and chased in low relief with rococo ornament, in scabbard
