AN OTTOMAN 18-BORE MIQUELET-LOCK SPORTING RIFLE
EARLY 19TH CENTURY
With swamped octagonal fluted twist sight barrel decorated with silver-encrusted lines framing panels of foliage, characteristic shaped standing rear-sight, flat lock with silver-inlaid ornament and with silver-covered fence bearing a small maker's mark, walnut three-quarter stock profusely decorated with inlaid brass pellets, and horn and bone plaques, panels and roundels (some replaced), the barrel retained by two brass bands (some wear throughout); together with AN OTTOMAN POWDER-HORN WITH EMBOSSED BRASS MOUNTS; and A SMALL WHITE METAL PRIMING-FLASK
