MAKER'S MARK ONLY STRUCK TWICE OF JOHANNES COMBRINK, CAPE OF GOOD HOPE, CIRCA 1800
Rectangular with canted, incurved corners, plain thumbpiece and rudimentary narrow wavy bands of bright engraving bordering the otherwise plain sides and base, cover set with an earlier mother-of -pearl panel depicting Christ, John and the agnus dei with Dutch inscriptions from John 1, verse 19
