A PAIR OF GEORGE III SILVER CANDLESTICKS
MARK OF JOHN BORWICK, SHEFFIELD, 1781
Plain tapering columns on circular bases, with bead borders throughout, engraved with an armorial shield to the filled bases, the foot rims each engraved with a scratch-weight respectively 8=10 and 8=14, the candlesticks numbered 1 and 4, the nozzles engraved with a crest
10¾ in. (17.5 cm.) high
The arms are those of Edgar quartering Charlton with Edgar in pretence for Mileson Edgar (1760-1820) of Red House Park, Ipswich, upon his marriage to his cousin Susannah on 16 October 1783. (2)
