Carved narwhal lid with Bacchic figure finial and scene with a unicorn carved to reverse; with associated carved narwhal stem; circular sections at each end of the salt cellar restored

Lot Essay

A comparable shape and carvings in narwhal by Georg Pfründt was in the collection of Baron Nathaniel von Rothschild and exibited in "The World of Wonder" exhibition at the Walters Art Museum in 1971-1972.
