VARIOUS DATES AND MAKERS
All with carved wood handles, seven of these ebonised, two with silver-plated mounts to the grip, three chased with floral swags and scrollwork, a fourth engraved with foliate scrollwork, all with various presentation inscriptions for cutting the first sod on the site of various mills, collieries, cemeteries and reservoirs, comprising:- four plated examples, the remaining four silver examples London, 1899 and Sheffield, 1902, 1903 and 1909
