The sloping lid enclosing a later fitted interior with three gilt-decorated clear glass decanter-bottles, probably originally fitted as a knife-box

Possibly W. Bruford & Son, High Street, Exeter, where acquired on 26 November 1929, as a 'Nose shape Sheraton knife box' (£18).
