A BRITISH NAVAL OFFICER'S PATTERN 1827 SWORD
BY MOORE, LATE BICKNELL & MOORE, 1 OLD BOND ST., LONDON, CIRCA 1840
With etched pipe-back blade with crowned fouled anchor and maker's signature on one side and the Royal Arms on the other, gilt-brass half-basket guard bearing the crowned fouled anchor within a cartouche and with folding inner-flap, wire-bound white rayskin-covered grip, and gilt-brass lion's head pommel, in original gilt-brass mounted black leather scabbard, the locket with applied shield with further maker's signature (some discolouration to blade, scabbard leather cracked through above chape); together with A BRITISH NAVAL OFFICER'S BICORN HAT, the inside with gilt-lettered retailer's label for Harry A. Badman & Co., Bangkok (some wear throughout)
