Lot Essay

According to the paper label, this casket was exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1938, in the 'Exhibition of 17th Century European Art'. However, no record of this casket is found in the actual exhibition catalogue, thus suggesting that this casket was submitted after the publication of the catalogue.
