LANDSCAPE AND CALLIGRAPHY

Tian Manshi was born in Yancheng, Henan. She studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste Munich in Germany and received her honorary doctorate from Wonkwang University in Korea. Dr. Tian served as a member on the art education panel in Taiwan's Education Bureau and receive professorships in colleges such as the National Taiwan Ar Academy, Chinese Culture University, Taipei Hwa Kang Art School, Wonkwang University, University of San Francisco, and the Chinese Cultural Association at the University of California. Dr. Tian was known for her collectiong of Huang Junbi's paintings, especially works from his middle period, which are considered the peak of his career. It was during his most productive time that Huang Junbi concentrated on outdoor sketches. Huang later transcended the open-air painting subject matter with his meticulours skill and rich color palette.
