A TEADUST-GLAZED PEAR-SHAPED VASE
QIANLONG INSCRIBED SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The vase has a compressed pear-shaped body and is covered overall with an opaque glaze of finely mottled olive color that darkens in a line below the ochre-colored glaze of the rim, which also covers the inscribed mark on the otherwise teadust-glazed base.

Similar Qianlong-marked teadust-glazed vases of this more unusual shape and size have been published, including one by R. Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol. 2, London, 1994, no. 917; one from the Hall Family Collection, sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 2 May 2000, lot 559; and another sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 26 April 2004, lot 1094.
