A RARE BRONZE OPENWORK HANDLE OR FITTING WITH LOOSE RING
WARRING STATES PERIOD (475-221 BC)
The convex, tapering rectangular mount is cast in openwork as a crouching dragon/bird with scaly body grasping the lower rim of the border with its talons from which is suspending a loose ring, cast on the front with decoration, from the loop formed by its large curved beak. The figure is flanked by the slithering bodies of two small dragons with granulated bodies. A faceted attachment tab projects from the back. The surface is of mottled green and azurite color.
