A LARGE EMBROIDERED SILK PANEL
18TH CENTURY
The buff silk panel is embroidered in shades of blue, green, coral, yellow, black and white with a scene of a court lady holding a fan shown seated beside a table in a garden pavilion, as a female attendant, holding a tray, approaches, and boys of various ages play in the garden. One of the older boys carries a bow and arrow, the other a spear, while two of the younger boys are setting off firecrackers.
