A FINE CARVED AGATE PENDANT
SUZHOU, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The highly translucent material is carved utilizing the darker inclusions to depict a seated Buddhist lion surrounded by swirling clouds. Together with six jade carvings comprising a white and mottled brown jade carving of two intertwined chilong; a pale greenish-white carving of two monkeys; a white jade hairpin, Ming dynasty; a white jade pendant of rounded shape carved and incised in the form of a phoenix; and two inscribed white jade lock-shaped plaques.
