AN UNUSUAL WHITE AND PALE RUSSET JADE OPENWORK WEIGHT
LATE MING, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
Of elongated triangular section, the weight is carved as a lotus plant, with a chilong on one side biting the edge of a lotus pod that centers one of the two flowers that rise on the reverse, along with leaves, from the rhizome that forms the bottom. There are areas of russet color in the white stone.
4 5/8 in. (11.7 cm.) long
