A RUSSET-BROWN AND OLIVE-YELLOW JADE 'MASTER OF THE ROCKS' SNUFF BOTTLE
MASTER OF THE ROCKS SCHOOL, 1740-1850
The bottle, of flattened ovoid shape, is raised on an oval foot ring, and is carved in relief through the opaque russet-brown skin to the olive-yellow ground with a fisherman and a farmer in a mountainous landscape on one side, and a pine tree growing from rocks on the reverse.
2 5/16 in. (5.9 cm.) high, carnelian agate and metal stopper
