Born Cuba, 1957. Studied at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, 1983 and International Center of Photography/New York University, 1987. Serpentine Gallery, London, 2000; Tate Liverpool, 2001; Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt, Germany, 2011. Group exhibitions include: Transforming Chronologies, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2006; Paired, Gold: Félix González-Torres and Roni Horn, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, 2009. He died in Miami, U.S.A, 1996.
