Poetry, Persian mansucript on paper, 97ff. plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 15ll. of elegant black nasta'liq in two gold-ruled columns, headings in red nasta'liq, text panels laid down between gold and polychrome rules on wide polychrome margins decorated with scrolling floral arabesques and occasional geometric designs, opening folio with illuminated headpiece and a heading in gold nasta'liq set in cusped cartouche, with two probably associated but contemporaneous illustrations, one full-page depicting Yusuf appearing before Zulaykha and her companions, the second of a youth receiving instruction from a shaykh, final folio with a gold and polychrome illuminated roundel of cusped palmettes on a ground of scrolling floral vine surrounded by strapwork bands, areas of worm-holing, in later stamped and gilded black morocco binding with découpé doublures, old collector's label on doublures
