MUGHAL INDIA, CIRCA 18TH CENTURY
Gouache heightened with gold on paper, a young prince visits four holy men who sit outside a pavilion on a cream and brown carpet, books and prayer beads before them, a neat garden to the right of the composition, laid down between minor gold illuminated blue borders and black and white rules on wide gold-sprinkled yellow margins, the reverse with a central panel of brightly coloured scrolling floral vine
