Lot Essay

The foliate decoration of our horn hilted khanjar relates to examples from the city of Nizwa. A comparable dagger illustrated on the cover of Ruth Hawley (Omani Silver, Longman, London 1978) is attributed to this important city of the Dakhiliyah region.

Ruth Hawlay (op cit.) attributes the silver bracelets decrated with bosses to the central region of Oman.
