The double serpentine top inset with gilt-tooled beige leather, the frieze with three drawers and three opposing sham drawers, inlaid with lozenge parquetry, each side with a scrollwork cartouche, the underside with white chalk 8532, the mounts stamped multiple times with the 'C' couronné poinçon

Lot Essay

The C couronné poinçon, which is stamped on mounts to this bureau plat, was a tax mark applied in France to alloys containing copper between March 1745 and February 1749.
