MARK OF HESTER BATEMAN, LONDON, 1776, TWO CASTERS 1781/82
The salt cellars oval, on four ball-and-claw feet, with gothic piercing and cobalt blue glass liners, each engraved with an initial, each marked under base; the casters in two sizes, of baluster form, with beaded borders, marked on bases and covers, one of smaller pair dated 1779
The salt cellars 3¼ in. (8.1 cm.) long; the larger casters 5¾ in. (14.4 cm.) high; 14 oz. 10 dwt. (464 gr.) (8)
