A CANOSAN TERRACOTTA THETIS AND HIPPOCAMP

With Thetis seated on a galloping hippocamp emerging from waves, a himation draped over her lap and a foliate and berried garland in her hair, the cuirass of Achilles resting on her left leg, with remains of pink, white, blue and red pigment; together with a fragmentary Greek terracotta maenad and fawn, circa 3rd Century B.C., the maenad depicted mid-stride, with a himation draped around her waist, a fawn running along her raised right arm
