Lot Essay

'Law made a small number of concrete poetry works in lead in the 1980s and a handful in the period from the late 1960s to 1970s... The layout of text on these panels (in Fibonacci spiral, intersecting cross-hatch, or standard lines) varies as much as their overall form, whether augmented obelisk or rectangle, while a few include engraved outlines of dogs but no other figurative markings'
(Bob Law, quoted in https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/law-is-a-mind-a-prison-t12178/text- summary [accessed 13th September 2013]).
