Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with porcelain white dial, black Breguet numerals and railway minute track in 2004 and its subsequent sale on 26 January 2005. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe original fitted black presentation box and outer packaging.

The present watch is in good overall condition and has never been offered at auction before.

Reference 4860, featuring the slim elongated "Officier-style" lugs, was conceived as the lady's equivalent to Patek Philippe's celebrated anniversary reference 3960. The latter was launched to commemorate Patek Philippe's 150th Anniversary in April 1989. See also lot 198 in yellow gold and lot 134 in white gold in this auction. The lady's reference 4860 with a case diameter of 26 mm. was introduced in the early 1990s, first in yellow gold only, then after 1995 in pink and white gold. The reference was available well into the first decade of the 2000s.
