The rectangular top with tripartite gilt-tooled inset leather writing surface, the central section with ratcheted writing slope, the two outer sections hinged and enclosing compartments above a central cedar-lined frieze drawer and two false drawers on two X-frame end standards joined by a stretcher, the brass inlay possibly added
