A MOTTLED PALE GREY JADE 'BUDDHIST LION' GROUP
17TH CENTURY
The recumbent Buddhist lion is carved with its cub by its side, their legs tucked underneath. Their bushy eyebrows, tails, backbones, manes and facial features are all finely detailed. The stone is of a pale and darker grey tone with russet inclusions.
3.7/8 in. (10 cm.) diam.
