Title within woodcut border, 18 woodcut vignettes. (Browned throughout.) 19th-century quarter calf, spine with raised bands, gilt in compartments with a flower tool, marbled sides, marbled endpapers (spine worn, extremities rubbed). Provenance: marginalia throughout in an early hand, a small and neat title inscription in a later hand -- 'En tout bien' (small red morocco gilt book label).
Instruction on women, presented to a young prince. The second edition, published the year after that issued by Jakob Köbel at Oppenheim. BOTH EDITIONS ARE VERY RARE. ABPC records no copy of either at auction in over 35 years. WorldCat locates no copy of this 1516 edition in America, and just one copy of the 1515 edition at the Folger Library.
