Of traditional form with raised prow and handle, the bowl repoussé with a circular reserve centring an Imperial double-headed eagle with the orb and sceptre, the exterior sides chased with Cyrillic dedication inscription 'Presented by Empress Anna [Ioannovna] to Ataman of the Don Voisko, Aleksei Martynov, on June 1731' within foliate cartouches, the shaped handle cast and chased with a cartouche with the portrait of Anna Ioannovna within foliate scrolls and surmounted with a baldachin, the finial cast and chased as the Imperial double-headed eagle, apparently unmarked
