A FINE VAN NIELLOED SILVER BEAKER
VAN, EASTERN ANATOLIA, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY
On plain base with slightly flaring walls, finely decorated with the Citadel and City of Van to one side and Haghia Sophia to the other, the base stamped with maker's mark; together with a silver gilt beaker with floral decoration, with assay, sahh, tughra of sultan 'Abd al-Hamid II (r. 1876-1909 AD) and French import stamp
