LATE PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, CIRCA 2ND-1ST CENTURY B.C.
Brightly painted in polychromy, the upper panel centered by a large winged scarab, the body gilt, with a solar disk in between its forelegs and the moon in between its hind legs, the wings outstretched, flanked by two kneeling male figures, either priests or supplicants, each wearing a pleated kilt, his hands raised in prayer, an elaborate beaded broad collar below, including strands of lotus-petal pendants, circular beads and lotus-flower pendants, with falcon-head terminals surmounted by solar disks, flanked by djed-pillars
