AN ATTIC RED-FIGURED BELL-KRATER
NEAR GROUP G, CIRCA 350-325 B.C.
The obverse with four Amazons, centered by one riding to the left on a horse in added white, wearing a short chiton, spotted leggings and a Phrygian cap, a shield over her shoulder, her head turned back towards a standing Amazon behind her, wearing a chiton and a Phrygian cap in added white, a shield over her shoulder, with two Amazons to the left, both similarly clad but with leggings in added white, one with a shield over her shoulder, dotted rosettes in the field; the reverse with three draped youths; a band of meander and checkered-squares encircling below, laurel below the rim, dotted ovolo framing the handle roots, palmettes and tendrils below the handles; details in added white
