carved with mythical dragons and bats among clouds, the base inlaid in mother-of-pearl -- 7½.in (19.1cm) wide; and a black lacquer box and cover decorated in red lacquer and inlaid in mother-of-pearl and hardstone with a stag among maple leaves -- 12¼.in (31cm) long, pottery sealmark.
