A VERY RARE IMPERIAL LEMON-YELLOW FLUTED GLASS VASE
YONGZHENG INCISED FOUR-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE SQUARES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)
The vase has a pear-shaped body standing on a high foot and with a long, slightly tapered neck. It is fluted into eight facets and has an even bright lemon-yellow tone. The base is incised with the reign mark.

Lot Essay

Compare to an Imperial yellow glass vase, also bearing a Yongzheng mark, in the collection of Andrew K. F. Lee and illustrated in Elegance and Radiance, Hong Kong, 2000, no. 15, p. 112. Compare also to a Qinanlong-marked example from the Franz Collection, illustrated in Pure Brightness Shines Everywhere, The Glass of China, 2003, p. 76, pl. 9.1.
