DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The exterior is finely enamelled with three lemon-yellow ground panels, each enclosing a broad blossoming peony framed by foliate scrolls and connected by the slender stems bearing three smaller blue flowerheads amidst further leafy foliage, all reserved on a rich coral ground. The interior and base are glazed white.

Lot Essay

A Daoguang bowl of this pattern in the Hong Kong Museum of Art was included in the exhibition, The Wonders of the Potter's Palette, 1984, Catalogue no. 104; another pair was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 29 May 2007, lot 1506.
