Assembled by a passionate collector, these icons show the eclectic and playful taste of the present owner but also his real passion for watch collecting as these examples were carefully curated over the years, not only for their excellent overall condition, but also for the rarity of their dials, original bracelets, original boxes and guarantees. The collection's diverse choice is as exciting for the novice as for the connoisseur. Dials and cases during the vintage era were very lively offering Rolex wearers colourful combinations which are reflected in this collection. From extremely rare examples such as the gold emerald-set example made at the time for His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said from Oman which has never been seen on the market until today and will most likely gather strong interest from passionate collectors. The present oxblood lacquered dial on this reference 1803 immediately catches the eye. The rarity of this "Day-Date" is further enhanced by the glistering diamonds on the dial.

This "stella" on offer here at Christie's is enchanting and considered highly collectible and rare.

It is preserved in overall beautiful and original condition, with well defined fluting to the bezel, as well as crisp milling on the back and a sharp gold mark underneath the lug.
