The slightly convex oval stone engraved with a portrait head of a philosopher in profile to the left, with a bald pate, short hair at the back of the head and above the ear, his large eye beneath the arching brow, with a prominent nose and a full beard and a mustache; mounted as a ring in a modern gold setting
