of tapering circular form and on a spreading foot, with a shell and foliate-chased rising curved spout, polished wood double scroll handle and unmarked domed hinged cover with artichoke finial, the body and cover later-chased with rococo flowers, foliage and C-scrolls, the body with two vacant cartouches, probably James Smith, London 1725 - 11¼in. (28.50cm.), 34.75oz. gross.
