Lot Essay

The present work was inspired by the ancient Greek god of fertility Priapos and Cundy originally titled the piece as such, but later changed it to 'Destiny'. The bronze displays the influence of excavated Greek sculpture in the seemingly corroded and pared aspects of the patina. The feet of his figures can sometimes be cloven, delving into the duality of human nature.
