With five-stage sighted barrel with octagonal muzzle and turned bands each with silver-inlaid band engraved with foliage and flower-heads, flat bevelled brass lock profusely engraved with further foliage and flower-heads and struck with the maker’s initials ‘ID’ (possibly for James Dougall of Glasgow), the cock, steel and pan-fence engraved en suite, the latter also bearing the spurious date ‘1634’, plain steel three-quarter stock, bulbous pommel of octagonal section, long steel belt-hook, turned steel trigger, and turned steel ramrod
